The Benefits of Living In a Sober Living Facility

Posted in Addictions on Oct 30, 2014

There are many benefits to living in a sober living facility after being released from drug or alcohol detox or rehabilitation. One of the most important things to remember is that it is really important that you are surrounded by others who can support you and motivate you on your road to recovery. Most sober living facilities will also require that you either get a job or attend school while you are living there, and they offer the structure that is necessary in order to grow stronger every day, while on the road to sobriety.

Random drug tests are also a benefit to sober living facilities. This holds patients accountable so that they are less likely to experience a relapse. Group counseling sessions are also available. Group counseling allows us to bond with our roommates and house mates, and build an additional support system in order to remain sober.

Keep in mind that most sober living facilities are also same-sex facilities. Non-coed facilities are a benefit because you will be surrounded by other women who can relate to you and are available 24/7 to offer you the support and guidance that you need.

Awakenings for Women is here to serve you or your loved one who is currently struggling with a drug or alcohol addiction. We take pride in everything that we do and we will work with you every step of the way so that you can win the battle against addiction.
