How to Follow Through with Your New Year’s Resolutions

Posted in Sober Living, Staying sober on Jul 12, 2018

When making your New Year’s resolutions, you want to make sure that they stick. After all, it is easy to make New Year’s resolutions, but the hard part is actually following through with them.

For those who are actually looking to follow through with their New Year’s resolutions, it is even more important to make sure that you follow through when your New Year’s resolution is to get sober in a Florida sober living home. There are certain tricks you can do in order to make sure that you do not turn into those people who are chronically starting their New Year’s resolution…tomorrow.

Simply check out these tips from Awakenings for Women on how to follow through with your New Year’s resolutions. Managing your newfound sobriety will suddenly seem much less overwhelming!

Be realistic. Make sure to set attainable goals for your New Year’s resolution. Give yourself some leeway, and set realistic goals that allow you to realize your New Year’s resolution over time and not immediately.

Write it down. Physically write down your New Year’s resolutions before you enter into a women’s sober living home. Having something to physically hold will make your resolution more real and help finalize your commitment to your resolution.

Don’t wait. If you get off track with your New Year’s resolution, that does not mean that you need to completely stop focusing on it and wait until next year to start over. Simply get back in the saddle and start the next day completely fresh. After all, there’s no time like the present!
