Alcohol Rehab - Typically, this is a term referring to the actual facility that is responsible for restoring an alcohol addict to good health or useful life through therapy and education. Alcohol rehab also refers to the actual process of this same rehabilitation. The term alcohol rehab is a relatively new term for a problem that has existed for literally thousands of years.

Drug Abuse Treatment - The administration or application of remedies to a habitual, recreational drug user. This is the simple definition of drug abuse treatment,

Drug Detox - is a form of drug rehabilitation, used to treat alcoholism or other drug addiction. The process involves social, environmental, and physiological changes. Detox refers to the removal over time of any chemical traces, or drugs from one’s system. The term “detox” is short for detoxification which is the first step in the drug and/or alcohol rehabilitation process.

Drug Treatment - General administration or application of remedies to a habitual, recreational drug user. Because there are so many drugs out there treatments must be specifically tailored for specific drugs.

Halfway House - Traditionally A rehabilitation center where people who have left an institution, such as a hospital or prison, are helped to readjust to the outside world. This definition has changed over the years as the stigma of criminal or other negative elements of society are not always present. Halfway houses are designed to help those recovering from various addictions maintain long term recovery. Maintaining long term recovery should be the primary objective of all recovering addicts and alcoholics.

Sober Living - A lifestyle that is based on a clean, healthy, and sober existence. This type of lifestyle is usually the final step in the actual treatment of recovering addicts. This does not mean that a recovering addicts struggle is over in the least.

Sober Living Houses - Sober living houses are affordable, alcohol and drug free environments that provide a positive place for peer group recovery support. Sober housing promotes individual recovery by providing an environment that allows the residents to develop individual recovery programs and become self supporting.
